Landscan is an infrared linescanner with high temperature measurement performance. The linescanner sensor head can operate as a standalone unit, or in a system comprising a range of mountings, advanced processors and dedicated software. Modular in design, the user can choose from a single head installation to a multifaceted system. The latter could include multiple sensor heads, process control connectivity and display, analysis and databasing software. These can support automation interfaces and various communications protocols, facilitating integration within a wide range of information systems.
The sensor heads scan a one-dimensional thermal profile across a hot object and this can be processed and presented in many different forms. Landscan for Windows NT software has the ability to display, store, process and analyse the data.
The LPU_2E acts as a distributed processor in Landscan for Windows NT systems, and as an independent control loop element in process control applications. It reduces the high-speed linescanner data into 'zone' temperature calculations, which can be output as industry standard 4 to 20 mA current signals to be connected to process control computer systems or other equipment.
An optional auxiliary input pack allows the acquisition of eight additional analog and eight digital inputs. Outputs from various process sensors can be used by the data server PC for alarm displays, distance axis calibration and file storage control. Up to eight Land online infrared radiation thermometers can also be connected to each LPU_2E via its auxiliary input pack. Land is represented locally by Protea Automation Solutions.
