With the new IW (industrial workstation) enclosure for tower PCs, Rittal is presenting an innovative solution for secure production data acquisition:
Sensitive hardware components, such as tower PC, monitor and mouse, demand safe and secure packaging solutions where they are to be integrated into tough industrial environments. For the acquisition of production data, in particular, where personnel and order information, as well as stock, quality and maintenance data are to be processed, a secure and perfectly organised infrastructure is an absolute must. In response to these demands, Rittal is offering its IW enclosure for tower PCs. (Rittal presented its IW enclosure at the Electra Mining from 6 to 10 September 2004.)
Security, modularity, ergonomics and design are key criteria in the blueprints for modern workplaces. The new, elegant IW enclosure is more than just a work surface, as it rolls desk, PC enclosure and monitor housing into one. Integration of a shelf into the door of the lower enclosure section provides accommodation for a tower PC, and guarantees a maximum of accessibility to the hardware components. The enclosure is supplied ready to connect and incorporates a fan-and-filter unit with outlet filter, as well as a door position switch and a socket strip as connection for the PC and monitor. The 230 V power supply itself is introduced via an external socket. With protection to IP 54, the manufacturer is able to guarantee maximum security for the installed hardware.
The worktop is available with or without a handle, for either mobile or stationary use. Cast-iron supports ensure a firm footing and can either be bolted directly to the concrete floor or fitted with steerable double castors. The CP Optipanel housing (depth 50 or 100 mm) with integrated 15" or 17" TFT display, an IP 65 table-top keyboard and a mouse with IP 67 mouse pad complete the system.
With these latest IW developments for production data acquisition, Rittal is offering combinations of standardised IW modules and specifically modified accessories allow solutions tailored to individual requirements - with a touch of design and creativity.
