Full-function CPU card

November 2000 System Integration & Control Systems Design

The PCA-6145B/L from Advantech is a full-function CPU card with VGA; Ethernet 10Base-T and other enhanced I/O interfaces. The card accepts an 80486 DX/DX2/DX4 or 5 x 86 processor and offers up to 32 MB DRAM. Its VGA display supports both CRTs and LCDs with a display memory of up to 1 MB and resolutions up to 640 x 480 at 1,6 million colours. The VGA controller is a VL-bus C&T 65550, which includes a Windows accelerator. The card has a 128 KB second level cache memory and an on-board 10 Base-T Ethernet controller. It supports M-Systems' DiskOnChip Flash disk. The watchdog timer can generate a system reset or IRQ 15 with a time interval from 1 to 63 s.
