Idec Electronics is offering its new PS5R range of switched mode DIN rail mounted plastic power supplies. These new models deliver the power of a traditional power supply in half the space, without sacrificing any of the convenient features.
The first of a new range, the 30 W version is available in 12 and 24 V d.c. models. Both the 60 W and 90 W versions have 24 V d.c. outputs. The 30 W and 60 W versions use the same plastic case, (36 mm wide) while the 90 W version uses a 46 mm case. Idec points out that this is less than half the width typical classic power supplies of equivalent wattage. Idec's PS5R Slimline series have worldwide CE, UL and CSA approvals, fused inputs and overvoltage and overcurrent protection. They are DIN rail or direct surface mountable and have universal voltage inputs accommodating 85 to 264 V a.c. and 100 to 370 V d.c. No de-rating means they can be used at 100% current capability up to 60°C.
Idec Izumi is a global organisation with net sales of US$400M. Manufacturing facilities are in Japan and Taiwan, with sales and distribution subsidiaries present in the USA, UK, Germany, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Idec specialises in industrial control and automation and offers a full range of products for panel builders, OEMs, contractors, specifiers and end users of electrical equipment in the commercial and industrial sectors.
