Inductive sensors with analog outputs

September 2004 Sensors & Transducers Training & Education

Instrotech's range of Selet inductive proximity sensors with analog output indicate proximity by changing the current or voltage output according to the distance between sensor and target. The analog voltage versions have outputs from 0 to 10 V d.c. and the current types available have outputs of 0 to 10 and 4 to 20 mA.

Available in thread diameters of 12 and 18 mm, both shielded and non-shielded types can be supplied to work in ranges from 0,2 to 2 mm, 0,2 to 4 mm and 0 to 5 mm and linear working ranges of 0,2 to 2 mm, 0,5 to 2,5 mm, 0,2 to 2 mm and 0 to 3 mm. Repeatability is ~0,02 mm. Highest operating temperature is +55°C. Supply voltage requirements are 17 to 28 V d.c. The units are connector-mounted with the housings manufactured out of nickel-plated brass. IP rating is to IP67.
