Hot standby CPUs for PLC

For the Series 90-70 PLC, the new Genius Hot Standby CPU enhances both performance and features. Supporting higher level instructions, dual Genius Bus redundancy, configurable data program memory and operating at 0,4 ms per Boolean function, the CGR (CPU Genius redundancy) is ideal for complex applications. The CGR provides dual redundancy and provides bumpless control transfer in the event of a CPU or bus failure.

The IC697CGR935 is a single slot CPU with three built-in serial ports (one RS232, one RS485 and one isolated RS485). Only one port will be supported at release and additional ports will be supported in future firmware releases. Floating Point Math is standard and can be programmed in relay ladder logic, C language and SFC. It has flash memory (no EPROMs required) for operating system storage and is based on the Intel 80486DX4, 32 bit microprocessor running at 96 MHz.
