New on the market from the Johannesburg-based company, Designs Unique, is the first South African-designed and produced precision temperature and humidity measuring device, the DTH-Sense-Aire. The device combines an advanced digital sensor and microprocessor technology to produce a rugged instrument suitable for laboratory and industrial use.
Designed with various optional outputs available for data logging and/or control of external devices, the sensor is factory calibrated and interchangeable without re-calibration. The measured temperature range is from -40 to +120°C, and the humidity range from 0 to 95% (0 to 100% with the IP65 housing).
Other features include the built-in software calibration for 4 to 20 mA and 0 to 10 V outputs, as well as the built-in loop-power supply for 4 to 20 mA signals. The unit also comes with various options, one of which will be a handheld version, available soon.
The DTH-Sense-Aire has already been successfully installed and used in several cement factories in South Africa and Zimbabwe, where it is vital for the ongoing measurement of both temperature and humidity in the manufacturing environment.
