CHI Control, an Alstom company and official distributor of directLOGIC products in South Africa, is offering the DL06 PLC line, this includes eight individual products in both AC and DC models.
According to Rory Reid, PLC product specialist at Alstom Automation, its new DL06 micro PLCs combine its fixed I/O of 20 inputs and 16 outputs, with four option card slots for expansion (discrete, analog, communication modules), all in the same package. "With the DL06, you can use the same PLC panel layout for all applications from 36 to 100 I/O," says Reid.
With its wide range of power supply capabilities (100-240 V a.c. and 12-24 V d.c.) the DL06 does not need an additional transformer in most applications. This makes it a suitable fit for even high voltage, 220 to 240 V a.c. applications or remote 12 V d.c. applications, as well as everything in between. This particular PLC line includes two serial communication ports on all models. Port 1 supports programming and operator interface connectivity, while Port 2 can be used for RS232/422/485 networking, or ASCII in/out to other devices. This allows connectivity to an operator interface and networking to an AC drive or another PLC, all at the same time, while supporting industry-standard Modbus RTU protocol (both master and slave on Port 2 up to 38,4 K).
The DL06 includes built-in configurable motion control I/O. Says Reid: "This eliminates the need to purchase a separate motion controller or programmable limit switch (PLS), as long as your application includes basic motion requirements." Products available in the DL06 line include F0-04AD-1 analog input module, F0-4AD2DA-1 analog input module, F0-2AD2DA-2 analog input module, F0-4AD2DA-2, D0-DEVNETS. "The D0-DEVNETS option card transforms the DL06 into a smart device node on your DeviceNet controller network," concludes Reid.
