Rugged field communicator for all HART and Foundation Fieldbus devices

June 2003 Fieldbus & Industrial Networking

Available from Alpret Control Specialists, Emerson's 375 field communicator is designed to support all devices using the HART or Foundation Fieldbus digital communication protocols. The 375 enables users to configure and maintain all of their instruments and valves with one intrinsically safe, ATEX-compliant handheld communicator in the field and on the bench.

Using the 375 Field Communicator's 'Easy Upgrade' feature, users are now able to quickly and simply update the communicator on-site as new HART and Foundation Fieldbus devices become available. With more than 600 HART and Foundation Fieldbus devices from over 100 vendors currently available, and new HART and fieldbus devices being introduced quarterly, a simple process for updates provides a significant benefit to users. No longer is it necessary to send a communicator anywhere to add new devices. Also, with the 375 Field Communicator, fieldbus users gain a needed portable intrinsically safe field tool to configure and maintain their fieldbus instruments and valves as the installed base of Foundation Fieldbus devices continues to grow.

The 375 Field Communicator supports Emerson's PlantWeb technology and combines over 17 years of experience providing HART users with the required tools to configure and maintain their instruments and valves in the field. Emerson's previous Model 275 HART Communicator is clearly recognised worldwide as a standard portable tool for the configuration and maintenance of HART devices. The 375 Field Communicator's powerful fieldbus segment diagnostics are the result of Emerson's extensive experience in thousands of fieldbus installations around the world.
