Oliver Valves selected in Angola

October 2010 News

Oliver Valves has been selected to supply sub-sea and topside valves for the major Kizomba Satellites oil project on Block 15, offshore Angola. The project will create new wells feeding into the existing Kizomba A and B facilities, which currently provide around 30% of Angola’s crude oil production.

Oliver Valves will supply and install Twinsafe single unit double block and bleed (DBB) valves for the topside portion of the project and a range of small bore gate valves, needle valves and ball valves for the sub-sea sections. The valves will be built and tested at the company’s headquarters in Knutsford, UK. Paul Shillito, engineering director at Oliver Valves said: “Block 15 is in a remote location and under more than a kilometre of water and the valves we supply will be controlling the flow of oil at nearly 400 times atmospheric pressure and more than 120°C. By rigorously testing the valves using the latest equipment, we will ensure that each unit delivers a completely reliable performance for the duration of the project.”

The project further consolidates the broad portfolio of major international oil extraction projects that Oliver has supported around the world.
