System integrators honoured at first user conference
September 2002
News
Born out of the need to forge closer ties between Siemens Automation and Drives and its valuable client base, the first ever annual Simatic User Conference brought together Siemens, users and a distinguished group of international industry experts - to interact, to increase understanding, to gain valuable insight and to create a powerful conduit between user needs and the product development process. (Pics show various highlights during the Simatic User Conference)
This was the time of objective assessment, intelligent reflection, critical knowledge sharing, the dissemination of information and the finding of common denominators... in an environment majestic as it was ideally suited for this purpose.
Broader industry issues such as the latest technology trends, together with a targeted focus on particular topics and products were covered extensively. The ultimate purpose of the conference however, was to forge closer ties between all those present, which will in turn lead to a pragmatic cohesion between user needs and product development.
Prizes to Siemens Systems Integrators were as follows:
* Best WinCC installation: CS Holdings (Amandelbult concentrator).
* Best PCS7 installation: AST-MSI (Distell)
* Best MicroSystems installation: Abacus Automation (SNO Project).
* Best TIA installation: CS Holdings (Waterval Concentrator).
* Overall Integrator award: AST-MSI.
* Post achievements award: AST-MSI.
