SAIMC: Tshwane branch

May 2017 SAIMC

The branch hosted its annual golf day on 22 March at Centurion Country Golf Club, where the turnout was most encouraging. A special word of thanks goes to SAB Rosslyn which sponsored some drinks for the festivities. The April Technology Evening was also hosted at the Golf Club, where ABB presented the subject of ‘Robotics’ to an interested audience.

The golf day was very well supported see more photographs at https://onpar.pixieset.com/samcgolfday/

In relation to the First Lego League, SAIMC has drafted a framework MoU to be completed, which will define our role going forward. We are hoping to conclude this soon since we have invited FLL to share a stand with us at the upcoming Machine Tool Africa show in May, and also at AAF. We hope to procure at least one robot for demonstration purposes.

Patron members

The branch extends a warm welcome to Rascals Automation which has joined us as a patron member. We are also in discussions with East and Network Recruitment, encouraging them to become patron members as well.

It highlights the immense gratitude owed to the relatively small number of pilots who played a crucial role in defending the United Kingdom from the German Luftwaffe.
