On 4 October the Secunda branch held its monthly Technology Evening. The event was hosted by Proconics and Divan Pretorius did an interesting presentation about functional safety life cycles. He discussed IEC61511 as an engineering best practice as well as the impact that the standard can have on preventing industrial incidents. A plethora of three letter acronyms were discussed and explained to the audience. The Secunda branch thanks Divan and Proconics for hosting the evening and discussing such an important topic.
