With Pyrotemp’s roots originating from Product Centre (PC) Wetzer, the temperature product centre in Bavaria, Pyrotemp South Africa decided to host an annual Oktoberfest to let its customers celebrate in the Bavarian heritage.
Endress+Hauser has two companies based in South Africa, the original referred to within the group as a sales centre (SC) and the temperature factory, Pyrotemp, as a product centre (PC). The SC is responsible for sales of all Endress+Hauser products and services, whereas Pyrotemp serves as the local manufacturing facility producing quality temperature sensors and transmitters. Pyrotemp forms part of Endress+Hauser’s global temperature network of companies, reporting to the head office located in Bavaria.
Rob Mackenzie opens the festivities.
The Endress+Hauser network of temperature companies prides itself on innovative products, manufacturing capabilities and accredited services. To share such attributes with sub-equatorial African customers, Pyrotemp hosted an open day where visitors could experience the Virtual Temperature Display Unit, as well as an optional factory tour showcasing the precision of the automated Thermowell production centre, SANAS accredited laboratory, innovative RTD Pt100 technologies, laser technology to serialise products for lifelong traceability and exclusive high temperature sensors with platinum Sheaths.
Over 140 clients were hosted on an eventful day, filled with a variety of Bavarian food and drink, and a live oompah band.
Rob Mackenzie, managing director of Endress+Hauser South Africa, opened proceedings by welcoming the guests and briefly explaining the company’s direction, focus and product launches for 2017. The feedback received from customers was very positive and the event was enjoyed by all. Like the traditional Oktoberfest, this Pyrotemp event will be repeated annually. “It is our way of sharing the Endress+Hauser Pyrotemp heritage with our customers. We would like to thank all our clients for attending and we are looking forward to seeing you and many more at next year’s event,” concluded Ben White, general manager, Pyrotemp.
