ifm electronic’s OI sensor is designed for position detection in conveying where long ranges are required. The diffuse reflection sensor is virtually independent of colour so that objects with different surfaces can be detected reliably without readjustment. The metallic housing with a solid M30 thread is extremely robust. Even without additional protection, the sensor withstands impacts and shocks.
A special feature is the switch point setting using a multi-turn potentiometer and a distance scale. The revolutions and the scale value are linear to the distance. Therefore before connecting the sensor the switch point can be set and seen from the sensor scale at any time. There is no easier way. The sensor is suitable for long ranges up to 800 mm for diffuse reflection and up to 15 m for retro-reflective systems.
