New uniforms from Vega

November 2013 News

Vega Instruments has been actively involved for many years in helping the children that attend Kingsway primary school and recently sponsored uniforms for the school choir. Kingsway School caters for disadvantaged children from the Honeydew area in Johannesburg. The choir was formed to help the musically talented children who attend the school develop their gift.

The children are between 11 and 13 years of age and meet once a week to practice with the teachers involved. They have performed at several prestigious events, including a fund raising concert at Rosebank Union Church; for the Minister of Health at the launch in May 2013 of the health campaign in Zandspruit; with the Stadtmission men’s choir from Germany and at the Mass Choir Festival on the West Rand. The choir enters competitions and appears at choir festivals. To further promote their talents and generate funds for the choir, they are planning to produce a CD of their songs.
