ESG launches a new valves manufacturing company in Gauteng

April 2021 News

Engineering Solutions Group (ESG), part of Invicta Holding Limited, has established a new company – Abrasive Flow Solutions (AFS) – which specialises in the design and manufacture of slurry related valves.

“ESG’s strategy to expand its fluid technology services, through the launch of an in-house manufacturing facility, strengthens the Group’s position in the valves sector on the African continent,” says Willie Lamprecht, business unit manager, Low Pressure, BMG. “The establishment of AFS also expands specialist valves services to a broader customer base and provides new market and application opportunities. The AFS team, which has extensive experience in slurry related valves, have set their first challenge: to improve the quality of diaphragm valves by extending the service life and reducing maintenance requirements. This will be achieved through implementation of the latest design technologies, materials and coatings.

“At the helm of AFS is managing director, Donald Morrison, who has many years’ experience in the severe slurry service valve market, for which BMG is an official distributor.”

The AFS manufacturing plant in Benoni, which is equipped with the latest equipment, complies with stringent quality and safety standards. The facility is supported by technical specialists who offer dependable technical support to ensure optimum safety, efficiency and extended service life of every system, even for those used in corrosive environments and arduous conditions. The team is able to specify the correct valves needed for every application and also assists customers to solve the problems associated with difficult installations and applications.

Through BMG’s broad branch and distributor network, industry has easy access to a comprehensive portfolio of locally manufactured and imported valves. The ranges include AFS Klep diaphragm and wedge gate valves, AFS FPV non-return valves, pinch valves and knife gate valves, plus many others.

These ranges are particularly well-suited for use in harsh conditions in diverse industries including mining, chemical and petrochemical, water and wastewater, energy production and agri-food.
