Wago's new power supplies

August 2010 Electrical Power & Protection

Wago has expanded the Epsitron power supply system within the PRO family to include single-phase power supply devices. The 12 Ah rechargeable battery modules and a high performance charging unit have also been added to the system’s uninterruptible power supplies.

The new supplies (787-822 and 787-832) provide an adjustable voltage of 24 VDC at the output, with an output current of either 5 or 10 A. The two-stage PowerBoost delivers up to 200% of the nominal output voltage for 4 s and up to 150% for an additional 2 s. This prevents the frequently encountered expensive over sizing of the power supply. The integrated TopBoost also provides a multiple of the nominal current for 25 ms so that cost effective circuit breakers can be used to protect load circuits.

The Epsitron UPS family consist of a charger and controller, as well as one or more rechargeable battery modules. The charger and controller guarantee an optimised, temperature controlled charging process to extend the life of the rechargeable battery and minimise the maintenance required. The UPS modules support complete current and voltage monitoring and feature numerous signalling options, a display and RS232 interface.
