The International Society of Automation announced that the 2010 Industrial Automation Safety and Security Symposium, sponsored by the ISA Safety Division, will take place on 28–29 April 2010 at the Astor Crowne Plaza in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

This year’s symposium will focus on threats – including cyber security threats – to industrial environments and the steps engineers must consider when designing and optimising industrial processes and safety instrumented systems (SIS).

Symposium presentations will provide practical and useful guidance for designing industrial processes, selecting SIS, and protecting these systems against cyber threats and dangerous failures.
