SUSTAIN 2007 Exhibition - sustainable development in practice

October 2006 News

Sustainable development, global warming - buzz phrases, again finding a place in the vocabulary of the media as 'normal', natural conditions appear to be becoming abnormal, unsustainable.

In response to the awakening interest in sustainable development, and as a natural follow up to the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 and in Johannesburg in 2002, Exhibitions for Africa are staging the SUSTAIN 2007 Exhibition at the Sandton Convention Centre from 15 to 17 August 2007.

SUSTAIN 2007 is a business-orientated exhibition - it sets out to present an overview of business solutions and scientifically-based technologies that can be employed to reduce the impact of twenty-first century man on the planet's resources.

The exhibition is for companies in the business of providing technologies, products, services, systems or facilities that play a role in protecting the environment while contributing to sustainable economic development. SUSTAIN 2007 offers a high profile platform from which to demonstrate where sustainable business opportunities lie.

SUSTAIN 2007 is being staged under the patronage of Valli Moosa, Chairman of Eskom Holdings and is endorsed by The Department of Science and Technology, The Water Institute of South Africa, The Institute of Waste Managements and The National Association of Clean Air.
