With the introduction of the Prosonic S ultrasonic transmitter and its sensors Endress+Hauser has strengthened its ultrasonic product portfolio and re-confirmed its competence in this area. The Prosonic S combines the experience gained over the last 35 years with modern technological concepts like modular flexibility.
The modular design and pre-programmed functions offer users the flexibility of adapting the measuring device to specific applications. Whether it is liquids or bulk solids, from non-contact level measurement, flow measurement in open channels or pump and screen control features, the devices can all be individually configured.
The Prosonic S is available with the new top-hat rail housing for space-saving installation in the control cabinet, or alternatively, in a weatherproof field housing for mounting outdoors.
Different sensors can be connected and are automatically recognised by the Prosonic S. Up to 10 sensors can be connected to a single transmitter. Sensors made from chemically resistant PVDF can be used in aggressive fluids; while other sensors are designed to cover a distance of up to 70 m in bulk solid applications. A fully welded stainless steel sensor FDU91F is designed for food applications. Furthermore the sensors can be installed at a distance of up to 300 m from the transmitter. Previous generation sensors are also compatible with the Prosonic S.
Commissioning and operation is via the backlit full text-guided menu or FieldCare Device Setup software which comes standard with the device.
